I think Revolver. Suddenly, they realized they could sing about other things than love. They start exploring the "mysteries" of life for real.

I'm thinking Sgt Pepper, as they really opened up their sound on that album. Like someone once said - it was like everything was in black and white before then and then BOOM! There was this explosion of colour.
